The short version
The Hands On Heart mobile app does not require an account, contains no advertising trackers, and the developer does not collect your app data. Learning sessions and logs are stored locally on your device.
1. Who this policy applies to
This Privacy Policy applies to the Hands On Heart mobile application for iOS and Android and to the website at www.handsonheart.app (together, “Hands On Heart,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
2. Mobile app data
Data we collect
We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or use personal data, identifiers, learning activity, health information, or analytics from the Hands On Heart mobile app.
Data stored on your device
Practice sessions, optional patient identifiers entered during a learning session, and session logs are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to us. You control this information and can remove it by deleting individual records, clearing app data where your platform permits, or uninstalling the app.
3. Device permissions
Hands On Heart may request access to your camera when you choose to scan a QR code for the session handover feature. Camera access is used only to read a compatible handover code. We do not receive or store the camera image. You can deny or revoke camera permission in your device settings; the rest of the app remains available, although QR scanning will not work.
4. Website data
This website does not currently use advertising pixels, behavioral analytics, user accounts, contact forms, or non-essential cookies. If you email support, we receive the information you choose to include and use it only to respond and provide support.
Like most websites, our hosting and network providers may process basic technical information such as IP address, request time, browser type, requested page, and security logs to deliver and protect the site. That processing is governed by the relevant provider's terms and is not used by us to build advertising profiles.
5. App stores and external links
Purchases and downloads are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play. Those platforms may process payment, account, device, and usage information under their own privacy policies. Hands On Heart may also link to third-party educational resources. We do not control the data practices of those external services.
6. Children's privacy
Hands On Heart is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not transmit user data to us, we generally cannot identify individual app users.
7. Security and retention
No method of device storage or internet transmission is completely secure. Because app records remain locally on your device, protecting your device, operating-system account, backups, and passcode is important. Support emails are retained only as reasonably necessary to address the request, maintain support records, or comply with law.
8. Your choices and rights
You can manage device permissions in system settings, delete local practice records in the app, uninstall the app, and choose not to email us. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights relating to information contained in support correspondence. Contact us to make a privacy request.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the product, website, or applicable law changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel when required.
